DISCURSO INDIRECTO PARA PRESENTE PERFECTO, WILL Y COULD

En este tema, exploraremos cómo transformar oraciones directas en estilo indirecto (reported speech) utilizando el presente perfecto, "will" y "could". Aprenderemos a hacerlo con vocabulario relacionado con la ingeniería.

Reported speech for present perfect

En el reported speech con el presente perfecto, el verbo cambia de "have/has" a "had".

Estructura:

Subject + said/told + (that) + subject + had + past participle

Ejemplos:

1. The engineer said that they had built the bridge.
     El ingeniero dijo que habían construido el puente.

2. She told him that they had tested the machine.
     Ella le dijo que habían probado la máquina.

Reported speech for will

Cuando usamos "will" en estilo indirecto, este se convierte en "would".

Estructura:

Subject + said/told + (that) + subject + would + base form of the verb

Ejemplos:

1. The manager said that they would install the turbine.
     El gerente dijo que instalarían la turbina.

2. He told her that they would check the compressor.
     Él le dijo que revisarían el compresor.

3. They mentioned that they would replace the panel.
     Ellos mencionaron que reemplazarían el panel.

Reported speech for could

En el reported speech, "could" se mantiene igual, pero se puede usar "might" para expresar duda.

Estructura:

Subject + said/told + (that) + subject + could/might + base form of the verb

Ejemplos:

                                          AG.2.2.4

1. The engineer said that they could improve the circuit.
     El ingeniero dijo que podrían mejorar el circuito.

2. She told him that they might use a new sensor.
     Ella le dijo que podrían usar un nuevo sensor.

3. They mentioned that they could analyze the motor.
     Ellos mencionaron que podrían analizar el motor.

Ejercicio:

Ayude al teacher a traducir al inglés las siguientes oraciones:

1. El ingeniero dijo que habían probado el circuito.

2. Ella le dijo que construirían un nuevo edificio.

3. Ellos mencionaron que podrían optimizar el compresor.
